- Getting the smokefree message out far and wide to the WBOP communities.
Knowing that a wide range of ages and ethnicities received information, messages and resources
Key learnings
Coordination of the activities and events worked well amongst the WBOP Smokefree Coalition. The ability to engage with the public was pleasing to note, the resources and free giveaways were received enthusiastically by the public, schools, hauora practices etc. The breakfast show with Moana Radio was a great success and the follow through from this was good with people making referrals to the local AKP.
What didn’t work/what would you do differently?
Being so used to having just the week to co-ordinate activities, I felt the coalition wasn’t fully prepared for the ‘month long’ space. We will plan earlier and ‘better’ for next year. Will try to get more of community on board and have more exposure far and wide in the WBOP.
